Beyond Imagination
Beyond Imagination is my distillation of Microsoft's new design language from my time at the company — a directional guideline written for designers riding the then-emerging wave of Metro Design.
At the time, Microsoft was deliberately trying to lead a forward-looking design movement. History didn't quite prove it a commercial success, but under that creative direction every designer in the circle was genuinely excited. Microsoft — a company that had never cared much about design — was finally taking it seriously, and we were all eager to learn Metro Design and put it to use.
The book later got a traditional Chinese edition in Taiwan. Both editions sold well and received plenty of positive feedback. For me, it stands as a milestone in my career.
